Almost Home and Tears on the Canvas

As a Texas born flatlander, I have always loved the mountains. Vacationing in the mountains of Colorado and other states were always exciting. As an adult my word allowed my family and I to live in Utah for a brief season. We built a house in a neighborhood near the opening of Little Cottonwood Canyon and about 6 miles from a ski resort.

This love for the mountains has never left me. I also love snow of which we see very little here in Texas, therefore many of my painting include mountains, snow and anything nature.

Iin June of 2025, I was about halfway through a painting that I had titled "Almost Home", when my wife, Becky, suddenly had and massive heart attack and never recovered. Three months later I went back into the studio and finished the painting with tears flowing.

M love for nature, snow and the mountains is still with me, but I believe my Lord Jesus is directing me to add romance into at least some of my painting. Am I painting for Becky? Maybe I am, but mostly I want to bless others by revealing through nature, God's majestic love demonstrated through nature's beauty. The couples and even the birds in the paintings are there to show how God's love wants to flow through each of us.
